Inkle Acquires Finally's Bookkeeping Business, Strengthening Its Position in U.S. Small Business Accounting
SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 28, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Inkle, the AI-powered CPA and bookkeeping firm for U.S. companies, today announced that it has acquired the bookkeeping division of Finally, financial operations platform for small businesses.
Inkle has reached profitability on $1.5 million in pre-seed funding, a fraction of the capital raised by competitors in a category where several far better-funded players have exited the market. The acquisition also builds on Inkle's long-held view that small businesses want outcomes, not more software: Inkle now offers its software free and charges only for AI-backed bookkeeping, tax, and compliance services, delivered on Inkle Books or on QuickBooks, Xero, Zoho Books, and Mercury Books.
Inkle's mission is to build the most trusted brand in US small business tax and accounting. The acquisition significantly strengthens the brand, gives Inkle 24-hour global coverage across its delivery teams in the Americas and Asia, and deepens its entry into the non-tech segment of U.S. small businesses: the owner-operators, professional services firms, contractors, clinics, and restaurants that make up the bulk of the country's employer base. The acquisition is part of Inkle's strategy to expand its US small business customer base and combine AI-enabled accounting technology with experienced service teams.
As part of the transaction, approximately 100 Finally team members in the Dominican Republic, Colombia, Puerto Rico, Miami, Boca Raton, and New York join Inkle. Finally bookkeeping clients will continue to work with the same bookkeeping teams, now operating on Inkle's platform.
"Ranvir and I are delighted to announce Inkle's first strategic acquisition," said Anand Krishna, co-founder and CEO of Inkle. "Finally's team built a great bookkeeping business serving thousands of U.S. companies, and we're proud to welcome them to Inkle. We're building the AI-powered Big Four: a CPA firm where frontier AI and experienced professionals deliver the outcome, not just the software. Small businesses don't want another subscription. They want their books, taxes, and compliance done right, on whatever platform they already use. We've reached profitability on a $1.5 million pre-seed round because we run Inkle with the same financial discipline we help our customers build. We're here for the long run."
Inkle builds its own software, including Inkle Books, its general ledger, with an in-house engineering team, and deploys frontier AI across bookkeeping, tax, and compliance work so that a CPA-led team can serve far more companies, faster and more accurately, than a traditional firm. Inkle is now "ledger-agnostic" and serves customers on multiple general ledgers (including Inkle Books, QuickBooks Online, and other market leading softwares).
The transaction was structured as an asset purchase and is an all-cash transaction. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Inkle thanks the pioneers at Finally who built a great product and bookkeeping business serving thousands of U.S. companies.
