Inova Names Mickey Y. Kim, MD, MBA, Senior Vice President of Research and Commercialization
FALLS CHURCH, Va., Sept. 6, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Inova announced today that Mickey Y. Kim, MD, MBA, has been named Senior Vice President of Research and Commercialization. In this role, Dr. Kim will work with Inova's institute leaders to establish Inova's research priorities, manage its portfolio, work collaboratively with Inova's external partners, and drive the commercialization of research.

Dr. Kim joins Inova with over 20 years of experience as a pharmaceutical executive, venture capitalist, entrepreneur and strategy consultant. He joins Inova from MedImmune, the biologics drug development arm of AstraZenca, where he was Head of Out-licensing and Spin outs. Prior to MedImmune, he was a venture capital investor with Canaan Partners and BioVentures Investors, investing in medical product, healthcare IT and healthcare service companies globally, and an entrepreneur, co-founding a technology incubator. Earlier in his career, he was a strategy consultant with McKinsey & Company and with CSC Healthcare. Dr. Kim holds his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, his Master of Business Administration degree from the Northwestern University J.L. Kellogg School of Management, and his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Chicago.
