A new Luna Ultra bundle will also launch alongside the update. The update expands Luna Ultra's versatility across everything from concerts and live performances to portrait-oriented content, giving creators greater flexibility and control when shooting from a distance or on the move.

Up to 15× In-Camera Zoom

The latest firmware update pushes Luna Ultra's in-camera zoom beyond its previous 12× limit, enabling up to 15× zoom, equivalent to 300mm. Powered by Luna Ultra's dual professional imaging chips, the enhanced zoom is designed to retain more detail at high magnification than traditional digital zoom.

AI Remosaic intelligently reconstructs and enhances image details that can be lost during digital cropping, helping distant subjects such as people, text, buildings, and landscapes remain clearer and more defined, even at 15× zoom.

15× zoom is available in Video, PureVideo, Stage Mode, and Photo, with 4K30fps recommended for the best telephoto shooting experience.

Extend Your Reach with the Ultra Telephoto Lens

For creators who need even greater reach, the new Ultra Telephoto Lens for Luna Ultra extends the camera's optical range by 1.5×. When combined with Luna Ultra's 15× in-camera zoom, the setup enables shooting at up to an equivalent 450mm focal length.

With the Ultra Telephoto Lens attached, Luna Ultra supports shooting from 90mm to 450mm, with the main camera covered while the telephoto lens is in use. Its lightweight, portable design features a snap-on magnetic structure, making it quick to attach and easy to carry for everyday shooting.

Stage Mode introduces dedicated image-processing strategies to help maintain focus and exposure when performers are surrounded by complex lighting, movement, and crowds. Face-specific filtering and optimized focusing sensitivity help reduce interference from glow sticks and other objects, keeping focus locked on the performer. Exposure algorithms strengthen highlight suppression and optimize dynamic range, while face-weighted metering helps preserve detail and dimension in challenging stage lighting.

Dedicated white balance and color strategies further optimize saturation and color reproduction, helping restore the look of stage lighting while producing vivid, natural-looking footage.

More Stable Tracking at High Zoom

Stage Mode also enhances subject tracking at high zoom ratios. A stronger tracking model trained on extensive concert footage improves Luna Ultra's ability to recognize, follow, and reacquire performers in low-light stage environments.

This allows creators to follow performers more steadily from a distance, reducing the need for constant manual adjustments and making it easier to capture fast-moving moments from the audience.

Stage Mode introduces two dedicated audio options for live performances:

• Stage Audio: Prioritizes sound from the direction of the stage for a more focused recording of the performance.

Luna Ultra now makes it easier to save standout moments from a performance. While recording video in Stage Mode, users can capture Live Frame photos without stopping the recording or switching between video and photo modes.

4K Vertical Video

Luna Ultra now supports 4K30fps vertical video, making it easier to capture content ready for social platforms directly from the camera.

Powered by Luna Ultra's 4nm Qualcomm flagship AI chip and 6K oversampling technology, 4K Vertical Video delivers high-resolution portrait footage while taking advantage of Luna Ultra's rotating screen. Simply rotate the screen to a vertical position and start shooting.

4K Vertical Video supports up to 6× zoom and is available in Video mode. For the best shooting experience, up to 3× zoom is recommended, while support for up to 6× remains available. Image quality from the telephoto lens at 3–6× zoom is continuing to be optimized and will be finalized in the official release.

A new Zoom Live shooting style adds smooth, dynamic zoom-in shots to Live Frame capture, creating a more engaging way to bring attention to the subject. Designed for portrait and lifestyle content, Zoom Live adds movement and emphasis to shots without requiring complex camera operation.
