Intel and Softtek strengthen tech alliance with focus on AI

MEXICO CITY, May 13, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- The collaboration between Intel and Softtek has entered a new phase, shaped by the rise of artificial intelligence (AI), to offer joint solutions that drive 'digital transformation' across Latin America.

"A good portion of the solutions we're developing are related to AI. It's a symbiotic relationship that has matured over time," said Gisselle Ruiz Lanza, Intel's regional director for Latin America.

The two companies base their alliance on three strategic pillars: co-creating practical solutions, integrating technologies, and mutual feedback.

"Softtek is both a provider and a technology partner for Intel, and we contribute the technology they use," Ruiz said.

She also emphasized the bicultural nature of the alliance, noting that Intel, an American company, and Softtek, founded in Mexico with a global presence, share a common vision for the responsible use of technology.

Scalable and useful AI: a new approach

Intel's AI strategy rests on four pillars: openness, efficiency, security, and innovation.

"Although many see it as a recent trend, it's the result of decades of development (...) a market that could reach $235 billion in 2024," Ruiz noted.

One of the main results of the partnership is FRIDA, Softtek's automation platform, powered by Intel Gaudi processors and OpenVINO.

According to Carlos Méndez, general director of industry at Softtek, "these technologies have increased productivity by 40% and reduced testing times by 30%."

For Méndez, the alliance between the two companies "isn't just about technology; it also builds trust. That opens the door to new conversations, to exploring different paths. The challenge of artificial intelligence is global, but from Mexico, with this combination of capabilities, we have a real opportunity to create solutions that transcend borders."

He added that "AI is no longer just for large corporations (...) We have cases in healthcare where an application shortens medical diagnosis time from 45 to 15 minutes—even in rural areas."

Softtek, for instance, uses 'Lab as a Service' methodologies to develop solutions in just a few weeks.

From hype to real value

Ruiz pointed out that many companies are still struggling to monetize their AI efforts. "In 2023, only 10% achieved a clear return," she said, which is why Intel and Softtek are focusing on solutions with tangible benefits.

Intel estimates that by 2028, 80% of PCs will be AI-enabled.
