The new platform delivers on the Open Compute Project (OCP) vision of clean slate, vanity free, economic, efficient and scalable designs of open systems based upon open standards.

ADARA and Interface Masters will demonstrate the Switch platform at the OCP Summit, January 28-29, at the San Jose Convention Center.
The ADARA Axis system is based on Interface Masters' Niagara 2948-12XL OCP Open Compute Proposed Switch, which leverages Broadcom's StrataXGS® Trident II switch chip. The system features 1.2Tbps of bandwidth, non-blocking technology and ultra-low latency, and supports in excess of 960Gbps of traffic.
The ADARA Axis system also features high port density and modularity, and is configurable up to 72 ports of 10GbE or 48 ports of 10GbE, and up to 12 ports of 40GbE in a 1U form factor. To enable standard and server class Linux-based operating systems in the Open Switch Platform, the default Control & Application processor module is based on a quad-core x86 AMD Embedded G-Series SOC. This system is targeted to be used as a 10GbE Top of Rack (ToR) or Leaf Switch and is compliant with version 1.0 of the OCP Open Network Switch Specification. The Niagara 2948-12LX-OCP is built for optimal versatility, enabling multiple fiber media configurations for QSFP+ and SFP+ connectivity.
The ADARA Axis switch platform includes Axis vSwitch which supports multiple merchant silicon platforms, enables dynamic customized data and control planes, features OpenFlow protocol support, and provides multiple extensions for enhanced virtualization. Axis is an Open Flow Switch built on a decoupled HAL (Hardware Abstraction Layer) to support multiple merchant silicon platforms.
