International Association of Microsoft Channel Partners Women in Technology Announces Keynote Speaker for Annual Charity Luncheon at Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference
Julie Parrish, NetApp CMO, will address how women can take advantage of the growing opportunity in IT
SEATTLE, May 9, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The International Association of Microsoft Channel Partners (IAMCP) Women in Technology today announced that Julie Parrish, NetApp CMO, will be the featured speaker at this year's Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference (WPC) Women in Technology annual luncheon. Julie brings a unique perspective based on her experience leading global channel sales in her new role as CMO of a Fortune 500 company and an organization consistently ranked as one of the best places to work in the world based on company culture and commitment to employee excellence.
"I am delighted to have been invited to speak at this year's luncheon," said Julie Parrish, CMO, NetApp. "While the opportunities for women in IT are greater than ever, I am concerned that many women in technology opt out of the workforce as their careers begin to flourish. I'm looking forward to exploring this phenomenon during my presentation."
IAMCP Women in Technology is focused on connecting women across the Microsoft ecosystem. Leveraging networking through local IAMCP chapter meetings along with events at WPC each year, Women in Technology seeks to connect the creative, innovative and hardworking women in the Microsoft ecosystem for the purpose of providing mutual support in achieving professional and personal goals and to attract and retain women into careers in information technology.
"We are thrilled that Julie has agreed to be our speaker this year," said Christine Bongard, Women in Technology Luncheon Chairperson for 2013. "We selected Julie because of her involvement and passion for women in technology. Her message aligns to our mission statement. Julie is a dynamic individual, and her experience and enthusiasm will inspire our attendees."
In addition to providing a networking opportunity, the Women in Technology annual luncheon, sponsored by Microsoft Corp., is a fundraiser for the charity ONEXONE. ONEXONE was founded on the principles that every single life is infinitely precious and that each person can make a profound difference in someone else's life one by one. This year, the funds raised at the luncheon will support a local Houston charity aligned with ONEXONE as well as relief work in Haiti.
"It is a pleasure to once again sponsor the lunch for IAMCP Women in Technology," said Julie Bennani, general manager, Partner Programs, Microsoft. "The feedback we receive from the attendees is overwhelmingly positive. As an organization, IAMCP aligns to our support for gender diversity across our channel. Commitment to nurturing a partner ecosystem that fosters mutual collaboration is a founding principle of success. We are equally delighted to participate in supporting the valuable work that ONEXONE continues to engage in around the globe."
Microsoft also generously donates to ONEXONE. The contribution amounts will be revealed at the annual luncheon attended by several hundred conference delegates. As one of the most talked-about events at WPC, registration typically fills within a few days of opening.
