International Coach Federation Announces 2017 Prism Award Honorees

LEXINGTON, Ky., Aug. 29, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The International Coach Federation (ICF) named AFCC Automotive Fuel Cell Cooperation Corp. (AFCC) the winner of its 2017 ICF International Prism Award during an award ceremony at ICF Converge 2017 on August 25, 2017. EY (formerly Ernst & Young) was recognized as this year's honorable mention recipient.

The ICF International Prism Award program honors organizations that have achieved the highest standard of excellence in coaching programs that yield discernible and measurable positive impacts, fulfill rigorous professional standards, address key strategic goals, and shape organizational culture.

Coaching is embedded in every aspect of AFCC's culture. Located in British Columbia, Canada, AFCC is a joint venture of Daimler AG and Ford Motor Company developing fuel cell modules for automotive applications. All employees, co-op students and contractors are eligible to participate in coaching, and all new hires are assigned coaches as part of their on-boarding process. AFCC credits coaching for its 161 percent improvement in leadership culture from 2014–2017.

AFCC was nominated for the Prism Award by its head of human resources, Glenn St. Onge, PCC.

EY was nominated for the Prism program by Executive Coach Tricia Christian, ACC.

This year's Prism honorees were selected by a volunteer panel of ICF Members and Credential-holders from around the world. The panel of judges included:

Additional finalists for the 2017 Prism Award were:

• The Ann and John Doerr Institute for New Leaders at Rice University, nominated by Amber Barger, PCC
• China HP Inc. Dalian Site, nominated by Rachel Kot, PCC
• St. Michaels University School, nominated by Ian Chisholm, PCC

All five organizations participated in a long table discussion at ICF Converge in Washington, D.C., and each was recognized for its strong coaching culture during the Prism Award ceremony later that evening.
