DETROIT, June 2, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Campbell Ewald CEO Kevin Wertz has named a cross office/cross disciplinary executive team that will oversee U.S. operations as part of the agency's long term business strategy.
Announcing the promotions, Wertz, who was named CEO last month, said, "The changes reflect our gradual shift away from an operational structure built around a geography based center of leadership to one that is discipline based and thrives on the export of ideas and solutions between offices."
Joining the executive team, which also includes recently appointed Chief Creative Officer Jo Shoesmith and Chief Financial Officer Jari Auger, are: Kari Shimmel who has been appointed to the new position of Chief Marketing Officer across all offices and will be responsible for business development, and Brian Phelps who takes on the dual role of Chief Operating Officer for the network and Managing Director of the Detroit office, a new post.
As previous co-leads on new business efforts across the agency's U.S. network last year, Phelps was responsible for client services while Shimmel led strategy and planning efforts.
"Both Kari and Brian have excelled at delivering outstanding client service and developing exceptional cross office teams as evidenced in new business wins such as Travelocity, Covered California, Country Inns & Suites, Empire State Development and Valero last year," Wertz said.
In addition to the executive leadership changes, the following appointments have also been made to support the new philosophy:
- Zenaida Torres, formerly the Group Account Director in Los Angeles, is now the Managing Director where she'll be responsible for all agency operations for that office including growth and development.
- Jamie Lewis, formerly the Director of Planning and Digital Strategy in Los Angeles, becomes Managing Director, Digital, across the network. Jamie will be responsible for leading digital operations, including new and organic digital growth, throughout all offices.
- Chip Rich moves from Group Creative Director to Executive Creative Director in New York where he'll oversee creative direction for various Campbell Ewald clients.
- Lora Stock, previously the SVP Director of Content Strategy and Managing Editor of the Content Lab at Doner in Detroit, is now Group Director Social and Content Strategy for the Campbell Ewald network. Lora will lead integrated strategies for the agency and direct a multi-disciplinary team focused on social media and content marketing.
All appointments are effective immediately.
