Fama launches a new social media screening paradigm, reinventing the category it created in 2015

When Fama was launched in 2015, it introduced the market to the concept of flags and keywords. Customers could turn flags such as intolerance, threats or harassment on or off. They could also layer in keywords to further customize their approach. Ultimately users were left to interpret what Fama's generalized flags and keywords meant for their policy, for their risk acceptance. This strategy worked and created a whole industry of vendors that followed suit.

Fama serves companies across industries and geographies — each of them has varying risk tolerances and criteria. While the universe of actionable data was substantially reduced via flags and keywords, Fama users were still left to interpret what these flags and keywords meant to them. This meant long review times, added labor costs, and concerns around invasiveness, particularly with keywords.
