PITTSBURGH, June 10, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- "I wanted to create a new mitt for shortstops to enhance performance during a game or practice," said an inventor, from Bronx, N.Y., "so I invented THE SHORT STOP MITT. My design would make it easier to hold onto the ball no matter where it hits the mitt."
The invention provides an improved baseball mitt for shortstops. In doing so, it ensures hot groundballs are easier to recover. As a result, it enhances performance when fielding sharply hit groundballs. It also offers an alternative to using a traditional fielder's glove. The invention features a practical design that is easy to use so it is ideal for shortstops at all levels of play. Additionally, a prototype model and technical drawings are available upon request.
The original design was submitted to the Manhattan sales office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
