NEW YORK, May 16, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Investcorp, a leading global provider and manager of alternative investment products, today announced that its Strategic Capital Group ("SCG") has entered into a partnership with Dock Square Capital LLC ("Dock Square"), an advisory and merchant banking firm founded by former Governor Jeb Bush.
Investcorp launched SCG in late 2018 to partner with, and acquire minority equity stakes in, established mid-sized alternative asset managers, including private equity, private debt, real estate, venture capital and hedge fund managers. The new unit is led by Anthony Maniscalco, Managing Partner and Head of SCG, who joined Investcorp along with a team from Credit Suisse's Anteil Capital Partners in October 2018. Prior to Credit Suisse, Mr. Maniscalco was on the leadership team of Blackstone Strategic Capital Holdings, which managed a program focused on acquiring minority interests in alternative asset managers.
"Our partnership with Dock Square will allow us to establish and deepen our relationships with top alternative investment managers," said Rishi Kapoor, Co-CEO of Investcorp. "They will further act as a resource for managers as we work with them to expand their franchise and enhance their longevity."
Former Governor Jeb Bush will serve on SCG's Strategic Advisory Board and Dock Square will act as a resource to SCG through its broad network and extensive expertise across government, financial services and executive management.
"I have known the team at Dock Square for many years, having worked with several of the partners. I am excited to partner with them as we continue to build our Strategic Capital Group and create a further differentiated approach to our partnerships with managers," said Mr. Maniscalco. "Their deep expertise and expansive network will be helpful as we seek to provide unique insights to the managers with whom we partner."
"I am very excited to partner with Investcorp and SCG in their effort to build a premier minority staking platform focused on mid-sized firms," said former Governor Jeb Bush. "We believe strongly in this attractive and growing segment of the GP staking market and believe SCG is pursuing a differentiated approach. We look forward to doing all that we can to support SCG's efforts to build a best-in-class platform."
