Invictus Foundation™ Receives Grant from Union Pacific Railroad

SEATTLE, Feb. 20, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Invictus Foundation™, a national nonprofit organization providing no cost, face to face individual and family behavioral health counseling services with licensed behavioral health practitioners to military members and veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan, their loved ones, and their communities announces a grant from Union Pacific to scale its Welcome Home Network program and services.

The Welcome Home Network's™ licensed volunteer behavioral health professionals are available to active duty service members, members of the National Guard and Reserve forces, veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan and their families who have separated or retired from any branch of military service. The Welcome Home Network™ is also offering services to parents, siblings, unmarried partners, grandparents--in short anyone who loves someone affected by the current wars.

The principal issues confronting this Community are lack of access, lack of services and finally lack of health care benefits. The first two have nothing to do with health care benefits but rather lack of an understanding of referral sources, fragmentation within the referral sources themselves and the lack of a unified informatics platform specifically designed to help them find the resources. The Invictus Foundation's Welcome Home Network and its informatics platform have been designed to fill that void.

By providing services that are separate from the military establishment, the Welcome Home Network™ offers an essential option for men and women who might otherwise fail to seek or receive appropriate services. There is no paperwork; no insurance claims need to be filed, and no money changes hands. The Welcome Home Network's™ services are at no cost and there is no limit to the number of sessions one can receive.
