Customer services manager gets Olympic honour for voluntary work with Scouts

A manager for UK cloud computing leader iomart Group plc, has been chosen to be an Olympic torchbearer for the London 2012 Relay as it passes through Scotland this summer.

Colin McGregor, who's 30 and lives in Perth, was nominated because of his voluntary work as a leader with the Scouts Association in Scotland.  He will be one of the torchbearers as the London 2012 Relay passes through Newburgh in north Fife on June 12.

Colin said: "I'm incredibly honoured to have been chosen to carry the Olympic flame.  It'll be a fantastic moment to be part of the Olympics in Scotland, I'll be carrying the torch on behalf of the whole of the Scout movement.  I can't thank my colleagues at iomart enough for nominating me."

Colin is a customer service manager for iomart Group plc. He has worked for the web hosting company since 2003.

The 200 staff who work foriomart were invited to either nominate themselves or a work colleague to be an Olympic Torchbearer, demonstrating how they or the colleague had made a valuable contribution to their community or had inspired others to make a positive impact of their own.
