It's All About Furniture Deals Black Friday at Gardner-White Furniture

WARREN, Mich., Nov. 24, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- According to Steve Tracey, president of Gardner-White Furniture, "This year shoppers are all about the deals," and he adds, "This is the best weekend of the year to get discounts on our best furniture."

Tracey notes that the mindset of the retail consumer has changed markedly from one year ago.  "A smart shopper always looks for deals -- this year they want steals."

Traditionally, many stores woo Black Friday shoppers with free or low-cost novelty items. The folks at Gardner-White have those as well. They are giving away a two disc BluRay/DVD combo of Disney's "A Christmas Carol" free with any purchase over $399.

Aime Fitzhugh, vice-president of merchandising at Gardner-White said, "People like the 'toys', but they love the savings. Our customer wants good furniture at a rock-bottom price and this weekend we have put together a selection that will surprise our most bottom-line oriented consumer."

Another growing consumer trend is the emphasis on more quality time with the family, whether it's watching favorite TV shows or just hanging out. Gardner-White has experienced increasing demand for reclining "family-style" furniture.
