The Red Bull Soapbox Race is a global event that celebrates creativity, humor, and adrenaline, creating a spectacle of both engineering and entertainment. Each team consists of five people that design and build imaginative, non-motorized soapbox cars, from rockets to tacos, while the driver races them down challenging courses filled with twists, ramps, and obstacles. Speed is the name of the game, but they'll also be judged on their creativity and showmanship in what will be an immensely fun afternoon for teams and spectators alike. The first Red Bull Soapbox Race took place in Brussels, Belgium in the year 2000. Since then, over 5 million spectators have witnessed teams compete at over 160 events across 53 different countries.
If you think you've got what it takes to burn your mark into the history books, then the steps below will help you make it to the starting grid in the craziest cavalcade on four (or more) wheels. Here's how interested participants can apply:
Step One – The Online Application
Are you ready to prove your creative talent and completely re-define the rules of street racing? Then simply click here to start the application process.
Step Two – Upload A Sketch
Think your design is unique enough to earn a place at the event and you know how to impress the judges with your theme, fancy dress, and on-stage performance? Then simply pop the upload link at the end of the application process and share a sketch of your unique concept.
Step Three – The Team Selection
The craziest hot-rod racers in the country will then be selected and earn their place within the starting grid, as well as receive an official participation kit.
Step Four – The Build Phase
After receiving your exclusive Red Bull Soapbox Race driver's license together with your participation kit, it is time to start taking your design from blueprint to reality.
