LOS ANGELES, July 27, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- James Bok Wong, Ph.D., Ch.E., is a distinguished biographee of Marquis Who's Who. He has been recognized for a wide range of career achievements, including being the first person to introduce embryo transfer of milk cattle from the United States to China, resulting in Holstein milk cows in China. Although Dr. Wong retired in 1990, he continues to hold several civic positions. In addition to serving as a technical consultant with various corporations, he has been recognized as a chairman of the Board of Directors with United Pacific Bank for many years.

Early in his career, Dr. Wong served in the U.S. Air Force for three years. He went on to attend the University of Maryland, where he received a Bachelor of Science in agriculture, summa cum laude, in 1949, and Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering, summa cum laude, in 1950. While attending the University of Illinois, Dr. Wong completed a Master of Science in 1951 and Doctor of Philosophy in 1954. He initially joined Dart Industries as a senior planning engineer in 1961. For the next two decades, Dr. Wong rose through the ranks as a principal planning engineer, supervisor of planning and economics, manager of long-range planning and economics, chief economist, director of economics and operations analysis, and director of international technologies.

Prior to his retirement in 1990, Dr. Wong was recognized as the president of James B. Wong Associates, Inc., for nearly a decade. He is also noted as a former president and grand marshal of the Chinese American Citizens Alliance, as well as a founding member of the Asian American Education Commission. Dr. Wong maintains involvement with a wide range of industry organizations, including the American Chemical Society and American Institute of Chemical Engineers.

In recognition of his contributions to the scientific community, Dr. Wong was recently selected to receive a History Makers Leadership Award from the Chinese American Museum in 2014. He was previously named to the Executive Order of Commodores in 1982, in addition to receiving the Los Angeles Outstanding Volunteer Service Award in 1977. A respected voice in his areas of expertise, Dr. Wong has contributed numerous articles to professional journals. His most recent publications include "Silk Tiger" and "Jade Eagle."
