James River Coal Announces Exercise of Common Stock Over-Allotment Option

RICHMOND, Va., March 25, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- James River Coal Company (Nasdaq: JRCC) ("James River" or the "Company") announced today that the underwriters in the previously announced public offering of 6,650,000 shares of its common stock have exercised the over-allotment option granted by the Company and as a result will purchase an additional 997,500 shares of the Company's common stock.  Including the over-allotment shares, the offering totaled 7,647,500 shares of the Company's common stock, resulting in net proceeds to the Company of approximately $170.73 million (after payment of the underwriting discount, but excluding estimated offering expenses)..
