DURHAM, N.C., Oct. 9, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The Law Offices of James Scott Farrin is a sponsor of the City of Durham's screening of "Wilmington on Fire." The documentary film will be aired October 11th at 7 p.m. at the Carolina Theatre, 309 W Morgan Street, in downtown Durham. The event is free and open to the public.
"Wilmington on Fire" chronicles the Wilmington Massacre of 1898 – an attack on the African-American community by a heavily armed white mob with the support of the North Carolina Democratic Party. The massacre became known to the general public in 2006 after a published North Carolina General Assembly report.
The event celebrates the 50th anniversaries of the Fair Housing Act, and the Human Relations Commission, and the third anniversary of the City of Durham Mayor's Hispanic/Latino Committee. Farrin Attorney and Shareholder Anabel Rosa chairs that committee and has been instrumental in helping to organize the documentary screening.
As a personal injury plaintiff's law firm, the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin strives to obtain justice and advocate for individuals who have been injured or unfairly treated.
This event is free and open to the public, and there will be a light reception at 6 p.m. before the documentary screening.
