Jan Sternin Joins Situs as Global Managing Director of Business Development

HOUSTON, Jan. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- The Situs Companies today announced the appointment of Jan Sternin as Global Managing Director of Business Development. In her new role, Jan will be responsible for developing and implementing Situs' global strategic business initiatives, and will take a leading role in solidifying client relations as Situs expands its multi-faceted best in class real estate advisory services platform. Jan will be reporting to Steve Powel, Principal and Chief Operating Officer, and Ralph Howard, Principal and Chief Executive Officer.

Jan previously served as the Senior Vice President of the MBA where she was responsible for all aspects of the Commercial/Multifamily membership base, as well as Chief Executive Officer of MISMO, the MBA technology initiative for creating uniform data standards for the real estate finance community.

Prior to joining the MBA Jan held the position of Senior Vice President of Midland Loan Services, Inc., where her responsibilities included overseeing the marketing and sales activities for Midland's commercial loan servicing, asset management and advisory services to institutional and private investors in both the United States and abroad.

Jan has worked with the administration, as well as numerous governmental agencies including Resolution Trust Corporation (RTC), Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), Office of Thrift Supervision (OTS), Federal Home Loan Bank (FHLB), and Federal Savings and Loan Insurance Corporation (FSLIC) Additionally, in her capacity at Midland, she has been a member of MBA's Commercial/Multifamily Board of Governors (COMBOG) for the last two years and a member of CMSA's Canadian Board of Governors for the last year.

Jan earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Missouri at Kansas City. Jan received her CMB designation in 2005.
