Jane Madden Joins Burson-Marsteller As Managing Director, Head Of U.S. Corporate Responsibility
NEW YORK, July 27, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Burson-Marsteller, a leading global public relations and communications firm, today announced Jane Madden has joined the firm as Managing Director, Head of Corporate Responsibility. Madden has 25 years of experience as an authority on corporate responsibility strategy; Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) performance; and communications. She is a senior member of the firm's U.S. Corporate and Financial Practice and reports to the Practice Chair and New York Market Leader, Alan Sexton. Madden is based in Chicago.
Throughout her career, Madden has advised Fortune 500 companies in the extractives, consumer packaged goods, healthcare, food and apparel industries on social impact, conflict minerals, ESG reporting and stakeholder engagement. She also has extensive sustainable development expertise from working in more than 20 countries, including Afghanistan, China, Russia and Saudi Arabia.

Before joining Burson-Marsteller, Madden served as a Partner and the Sustainability Practice Leader at Environmental Resources Management (ERM) and as a Principal at Mission Measurement. Prior to that, she was an Executive Vice President at Edelman where she launched the firm's Chicago CSR & Sustainability practice. Before her role at Edelman, she served as a World Bank official for 12 years where she advised governments on ESG policies and programs. Madden also served on the Bank's Community Outreach Committee, the Development Marketplace assessment team and was the World Bank representative to the International Literacy Network. Earlier in her career, Madden held positions at CARE, UNICEF, and the European Union.
