Jay Brozost of Lockheed Martin Elected Chairman of the Board for the Council for Court Excellence
WASHINGTON, June 13, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- At its meeting Thursday, the Board of Directors elected Jay A. Brozost as Chairman of the Council for Court Excellence. Mr. Brozost is the Vice President and General Counsel for Washington Operations of the Lockheed Martin Corporation.
June Kress, Executive Director of the Council for Court Excellence, said, "Jay Brozost will continue the tradition of integrity among the leadership of the Council for Court Excellence at an exciting time for our organization."
Mr. Brozost has led a prominent career at Lockheed Martin where he has served as the general counsel for the aeronautics and electronic systems businesses as well as the chief litigation and compliance lawyer for the Corporation. He began his career in the United States Department of Justice as a Senior Trial Attorney prosecuting complex fraud cases, and has received three Special Achievement Commendations from the Justice Department. He received his JD with honors from the George Washington University, and his BA from Cornell University.
A past president of the Washington Metropolitan Area Corporate Counsel Association (WMACCA), Mr. Brozost is a member of the DC Bar, the Supreme Court of Virginia, and the United States Supreme Court. He also served on the Board of Directors for the American Corporate Counsel Association.
Mr. Brozost succeeds Kathleen Walsh Carr as Chairman of the Board. Mrs. Carr remains active as a Board leader. On behalf of the Board, President Earl J. Silbert thanked Mrs. Carr for her leadership and generosity to the organization.
