Jay Newton Unbeatable with AGVSPORT America/MonkeyMoto At CMRA Opener

FLOWER MOUND, Texas, Feb. 15, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Jay Newton of the AGVSPORT America/MonkeyMoto team opened the 2018 CMRA season winning seven out of seven races last weekend at Motorsport Ranch Houston. AGVSPORT America is providing financial support and riding gear while Newton assists in the ongoing development of the AGVSPORT America Monza race suits and gloves. MonkeyMoto is providing equipment and trackside support as Newton focuses on capturing the overall expert championship of the legendary CMRA racing series.

The weekend of inclement weather included racing in the rain and temperatures in the 40's. AGVSPORT America/MonkeyMoto had the bikes close to perfect with Newton posting fastest in class lap times for all three bikes he rode.

Saturday had Newton with the fastest times on the Pirelli shod machines with his Kawasaki ZX6RR faster than the 1000 machines of other riders. The first race on a Kawasaki Ninja 250 (E Superstock), he rocketed to the front for a healthy lead. Newton next won by over 11 seconds on a Yamaha R3 (Ultra Lightweight GP) and also bigger bikes in the 500 Superbike field. The last sprint of the day was back on the Ninja 250. Newton took top honors in the E Superbike class by a large margin.

Sunday morning brought new challenges, with colder temps and stronger winds on the damp track. While still on DOT's Newton again produced the fastest lap times. Competing in 4 Sunday races aboard the ZX-6RR Jay took wins in C Superstock Expert, C Superbike Expert, B Superstock Expert, and B Superbike Expert.

After going 7 for 7 at MSRH the team looks forward to the next round of CMRA races at NOLA Motorsports Park the weekend of March 9th
