JCJ Architecture Strengthens Civic, Cultural and Higher Education Practice with Strategic New Hires

BOSTON, May 2, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- JCJ Architecture today announced the addition of Robert C. Hicks, AIA, and Lorenzo Mattii, RA, to the firm as Principal and Design Principal, respectively. Both will be responsible for delivering comprehensive planning and design services with Hicks focusing on higher education projects and Mattii leading a variety of private, public and institutional projects.

Hicks has a reputation as a project manager who works side-by-side with higher education clients in the planning, design and management of academic, student life, athletics and science-based facilities, among other building types. Prior to joining JCJ Architecture, Hicks was a Senior Project Manager and Senior Associate with Symmes, Maini & McKee Associates and a Director of Project Services with Hoskins Scott & Partners. Having worked extensively in Boston and across the northeast, he brings an in-depth understanding of the market and many of its leading institutions.

Mattii is a recognized and award-winning architect with more than 20 years of global experience in the design of complex performing arts, institutional, civic and hospitality projects. Prior to joining JCJ, he was a Design Partner with Safdie Architects, Design Director at Pfeiffer Partners and a Senior Design Associate with Rockwell Group. Mattii's work has received AIA certificates of design excellence, and he has been an invited critic, adjunct professor and lecturer at events and institutions in the U.S. and overseas.

While these accomplished professionals will be based in JCJ's Boston office, they will collaborate across JCJ's network of seven offices to create efficient and inspiring places through responsible architecture and progressive design.
