BENTON HARBOR, Mich., Feb. 14, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- JennAir is keeping the pedal to the floor in 2019. With its first brand experience of the year, the luxury kitchen appliance brand will launch an all-out blitz, driving progress and advancing its mission to eliminate luxury stagnation as it heads to Modernism Week, February 14 - 24 in Palm Springs, Calif. Throughout the festival, attendees will witness firsthand a new era of luxury unearthed via a series of immersive brand encounters. The commanding lineup includes an exclusive behind-the-scenes "Tour of Progress" throughout Palm Springs featuring signature homes outfitted with progressive JennAir products, a convention-shattering panel headlined by defiant women in design, and a gallery-style showroom experience at the Community and Meeting Place (CAMP). The immersive experience will be capped off with the premiere of the newest brand films and an invitation-only after party that promises to leave each VIP industry guest in awe of the future of design.
"JennAir steadfastly adheres to the mission of our founder, Lou Jenn, to defy the status quo and drive progress in all we do. We charge past conventional boundaries so we can quench today's new modern luxe consumers' thirst for bespoke products and experiences," said Jon Hall, product and brand marketing director, JennAir. "As we carry our progressive torch across the country to meet these consumers, designers, builders and trade customers face to face at events like Modernism Week, they will witness a rejection of all expectations and a call to fellow rebels with a cause to join us at our boundary-breaking experiences. With each encounter, JennAir shows off beautifully designed and digitally integrated products that radiate progress in every detail and deliver on our commitment to today's modern luxury consumers."
JennAir Featured Homes
Products across the RISE™ and NOIR™ design expressions will be on display as a statement of the brand's rebellion in several featured homes and experiences throughout Palm Springs. At the Green Gables House and the La Vie en Rose House, guests can immerse themselves in the luminary brilliance of the RISE design expression. Simultaneously, sensuality and geometry collide at Sackley Shagadelic House and the Christopher Kennedy Compound, where the NOIR design expression will show off a daring minimalist style, perfect for luxury consumers aiming to reject dated standards of beauty.
Brand Film Premiere
On Friday, February 15, JennAir will host an invitation-only event in a space inaccessible via any public tour throughout the festival — the exclusive Dinah Shore home. The evening will be headlined by the premiere of two new JennAir films, Mannequin and Duet. Following in the freshly-blazed trail of the Bound By Nothing™ anthem, the inaugural brand platform film that debuted at Architectural Digest Design Show in 2018, these two new works of art, featuring recurring characters from the hero spot, will further cement audiences in the JennAir Bound by Nothing™ ethos. As guests witness the new era of luxury come to life and shift into a mindset of defiance, the night will culminate with a special performance by Roc Nation recording artist Nicole Bus, sure to be one of the most buzzed about moments of Modernism Week.
"Women in Design: Shattering the Status Quo"
In the spirit of honoring those who renounce the premise of expectations and spreading their defiant wisdom, JennAir will host a trailblazing panel discussion on Saturday, February 16 titled Women in Design: Shattering the Status Quo. The event assembles leading women across appliance design, fashion, illustration and tattoo art to discuss how they challenge convention, source creative inspiration, forecast trends and more, promising to leave attendees inspired to eliminate conformity in their own lives. Featured speakers include JennAir product designer Jessica McConnell, illustrator, designer and entrepreneur Sophia Chang, tattoo artist Esther Garcia, and fashion designer and creative director Emily Oberg. The panel will be moderated by art curator and writer Kimberly Drew. Tickets to the panel can be purchased at www.tickets.modernismweek.com.
Following the panel discussion on Saturday, February 16, JennAir will host the Red Carpet Gala at The Christopher Kennedy Compound, where the seductive interior of the limited-quantity, industry-exclusive Burlesque column refrigerator, with a Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price of $30,000, will be brought to life in a way that may leave guests paralyzed in admiration of its beauty. A Night for Preservation at Villa Paradiso on Sunday, February 17 will close the first weekend of the festival, featuring signature offerings from the industry-exclusive line of Cuts, with each panel taking center stage in an oasis that transports guests into a mindset of artistry and defiance.
