Jerome Bettis Tees Off Stryker Presence At 2016 World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational

MAHWAH, N.J., June 28, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Stryker Orthopaedics, "Official Joint Replacement Products of the PGA TOUR and PGA TOUR Champions," is pleased to announce its first on-site presence at the 2016 World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational in Akron, OH. To kick off tournament week, Pro Football Hall of Famer and most recent addition to Stryker's roster of athlete brand ambassadors, Jerome Bettis will participate in the Ambassador of Golf Am-Am tournament on behalf of the brand.

Beginning on Thursday, Bridgestone Invitational ticket holders will be able to stop by the Stryker Mobility Zone - the company's premiere on-site footprint – and learn about joint health while engaging in fun and interactive activities. As the main feature of the activation, fans can participate in the Stryker Challenge, especially designed for fans to partake in a series of golf-inspired activities related to joint health, mobility and golf. Stryker will also be giving fans the opportunity to enter for the chance to win a trip for two to TPC® Sawgrass to play alongside longtime Stryker ambassadors, Fred Funk and Hal Sutton. ^1,2  

To further showcase its commitment to mobility and an active lifestyle, the company will be hosting the Stryker Health Walk at the Bridgestone Invitational. The Health Walk highlights 7-10 health facts and tips along the course for fans to learn about joint health as they follow their favorite golfers.

In a collaboration announced earlier this year, Stryker has committed to donate 100% of the net proceeds from the sale of Stryker hats to K9s For Warriors, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing service canines to military veterans suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disability, traumatic brain injury or other military trauma as a result of military service post 9/11. In perfect timing for the 4^th of July holiday, all fans visiting the Stryker Mobility Zone will have the opportunity to purchase Stryker branded hats to support K9s For Warriors and our troops.

Although the former Pittsburgh Steeler and Hall of Fame running back does not have a joint replacement, Bettis is the newest voice of the Stryker brand, discussing joint health and his experience in dealing with joint pain after 13 seasons of playing professional football.
