LOS ANGELES, June 16, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- PodcastOne, the nation's largest advertiser-supported podcast network, has signed Spike Feresten to host the new podcast Spike's Car Radio, according to Founder and Exec. Chairman Norman Pattiz. Feresten is best known for his comedic writing, including the famous "Soup Nazi" episode of Seinfeld, and his enthusiasm for cars, hosting the television series Car Matchmaker. Originating from weekly hangouts with car talk on the porch of the Malibu Kitchen in Los Angeles, Calif., the weekly show will feature all-star guests who frequent the spot, showing off their rides and enjoying "cars and coffee." Recordings will take place on location with humorous round table discussions about the latest car news, new model test-drives, and advice for new and classic car buyers. The debut episode is available now, with special guest and good friend Jerry Seinfeld, on PodcastOne.com, the PodcastOne app and Apple Podcasts. Upcoming guests include Jeremy Piven, Dick Van Dyke and Chris Hardwick.
Seinfeld, who helped develop some of the show's entertaining segments, will be a recurring guest, along with friend and fellow car enthusiast Paul Zuckerman, who has endless entertaining stories. There's also always one empty chair at Spike's table saved for the listener.
"For years, I've been driving out to Malibu for a cars and comedy breakfast with friends," said Feresten. "This is a way for me to share it with anyone who wants to listen in. I'm really enjoying myself, and podcasting is a way for me to monetize my weekly 'cars and coffee' breakfast. I'm getting paid to talk turbo's and woof down eggs."
Norman Pattiz said, "It's been a great June. We launched breakout hit podcasts with Kaitlyn Bristowe and A&E's Cold Case. How do you follow that? With Spike's Car Radio and his guest Jerry Seinfeld. No further explanation needed."
