This revelation comes as VisitBritain announce figures confirming that Britain had seen an estimated nine per cent increase in the number of Australians visiting the country in December alone compared with 2010 figures. The months of April to June were particularly popular with a 19 per cent increase in the number of Australians arriving in the country. The first three quarters of 2011 saw Australian visitor numbers increase by over 10 per cent every quarter.

Jetabroad say that many Australians are expected to follow the trend in 2012, as events in Britain like the Diamond Jubilee and major sporting events are likely to make the United Kingdom, and London in particular, even more popular with international travellers arriving on cheap flights.
