Jewelry Designer Alex Woo Makes Platinum Debut; Collaborates With Costume Designer Lyn Paolo To Design First Ever Platinum Pieces
NEW YORK, Nov. 19, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Platinum Guild International USA (PGI-USA) is pleased to be partnering with jewelry designer Alex Woo. Renowned for her signature fine jewelry collections and charitable efforts, Woo has collaborated with two-time EMMY® Award winning costume designer and platinum ambassador Lyn Paolo to design a platinum Little Icon that will support the Haagen Dazs® loves Honey Bees program. This marks Woo's first work in platinum, and it's a limited edition design for 2015, which will launch this spring.
PGI-USA announced its partnership with Lyn Paolo earlier this year and the connection with Woo seemed a natural fit. With their shared passion for saving the bees, the two teamed up to create the Little Activist Icon, a platinum beehive and honeybee accented with fancy yellow diamonds. In honor of the recognition they received together as "Influencers" at the 2014 ACE Awards at Cipriani's in New York City, Paolo gifted the pendant to Kerry Washington (aka Scandal's Olivia Pope) right after they accepted their award on November 3rd from the Accessories Council, an organization in which Alex proudly sits on the board.
Of the collaboration, Paolo says, "Being an avid gardener and loving nature as I do, it is a natural link for me to also love Bees. I think the partnership to raise monies for our wonderful tiny friends is an organic one and it was such a pleasure to work with Alex on this amazing project.
