NEW YORK, April 5, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Jewelry Information Center (JIC), the consumer education arm of Jewelers of America, launched its second annual Ultimate Proposal Contest Monday, April 4, at www.JIC.org/proposalcontest. The nationwide online contest asks couples to submit their proposal stories at JIC's website, www.JIC.org, for a chance to win travel and jewelry prizes.
To enter the Ultimate Proposal Contest, couples go to www.JIC.org/proposalcontest and enter their special proposal stories and information about the rings that signify their romantic bond. Submissions are accepted through May 23, 2011. From May 31-June 20, 2011, America will be able to vote for their favorite of the Top 10 Finalists and determine JIC's Ultimate Proposal Story.
The couple who submits the winning story will receive platinum and diamond rings by MaeVona, courtesy of Platinum Guild International, and a seven-night cruise for two to the Caribbean on Norwegian Cruise Line, courtesy of CMC-Meridian. The Top 10 Finalists will each receive a freshwater cultured pearl necklace from Imperial.
"Engagement rings and proposals embody hope, promise, love and commitment," says Amanda Gizzi, spokesperson for Jewelry Information Center. "Last year's Contest resulted in more than 1,200 story submissions that ranged from humorous to sentimental to adventurous. We are looking forward to receiving even more special stories at JIC's website this year."
