Jiffy Lube® Service Centers in New England Kickoff Weekend for the 2014 MUSCLE UP® Campaign

HOUSTON, July 23, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- All Jiffy Lube service centers in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Maine, and Vermont will kick off the 2014 MUSCLE UP® campaign in support of the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) with a special fundraising effort. Each Jiffy Lube will donate $1 for every Jiffy Lube Signature Service® Oil Change purchased in participating New England stores during the weekend of July 25, 26 and 27. There are 76 Jiffy Lube service centers participating.  Kick off events are planned in individual stores that include appearances by radio station personalities. 

Jiffy Lube – the company that pioneered the fast oil change industry and industry leader in vehicle preventive maintenance is embarking on its third annual MUSCLE UP® campaign in support of the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). As part of the program, Jiffy Lube invites drivers to visit participating Jiffy Lube® service centers between July 22 and September 1, 2014 to raise funds for MDA and help those affected by any of the 43 different muscle diseases covered in MDA's program, including muscular dystrophy, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and other neuromuscular diseases.  

Since 2012, Jiffy Lube has raised more than $2 million nationally for MDA through the MUSCLE UP program, and this year's campaign aims to raise an additional $1 million. Vital funds raised help provide health care services as well as support worldwide research and education. Through generous donations, thousands of children and adults have the opportunity to experience MDA summer camp each year at no cost to their families.

SUPPORT THE CAUSE
The MUSCLE UP campaign emphasizes the parallels between the body's muscles and a vehicle's engine – both require care and maintenance to perform to their fullest potential. Beginning July 22, Jiffy Lube customers can make a $3 donation to MDA through the MUSCLE UP campaign at participating Jiffy Lube service centers across the country. In return, donors will receive a MUSCLE UP savings book with more than $100 in savings from Jiffy Lube as well as coupons from Gap®, Michaels® Arts & Crafts, Famous Footwear® and Aeropostale®.  All funds raised during the six-week campaign will benefit MDA and its programs on both the national and local level.

Additionally, an online donation component will help extend the reach of the campaign. For each new fan who "Likes" the Jiffy Lube corporate Facebook page between July 22 and September 1, 2014, Jiffy Lube will donate $1 to MDA (up to $10,000).
