To bridge this gap, J.L. Anthony (JLA), the all-custom luxury drapery hardware house, has unveiled a new luxury line of made-to-measure motorized drapery rods designed to simplify home automation for interior designers and architects.
Christened "Svelte" by company president Philip Clemmons, the line is the first to marry precision-engineered drapery tracks with motor-ready hardware inside slimmer, more contemporary styles of designer drapery rods.
Offered to-the-trade only, the line addresses both the red-hot home-automation market and the current demand for modern and minimalist drapery hardware. JLA anticipates that combining the components into easy-to-specify and order systems will make motorized luxury draperies a more accessible design choice.

According to Clemmons, motorized hardware that previously had to be hidden in a pocket or valance can now be showcased with a variety of metal looks and wooden finishes. Simple, sleek finial treatments and mitered returns add to the modern design aesthetic.
Svelte installs like any other decorative hardware, and many of the motor systems are plug-n-play. Ordering complete Svelte systems also saves time (using Somfy Glydea motors and one of the 9 available finishes ensures a two-week production time) and trouble ordering tracks and decorative fascia separately. Freight charges, admin and design times are all greatly reduced, as is the potential for errors.
