JMG Realty's Bonnie Smetzer CPM® Sworn in As President of the Florida Apartment Association

ATLANTA, Oct. 17, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- JMG Realty, Inc. is pleased to announce that Bonnie Smetzer, Executive Vice President and Partner with JMG Realty, has been installed as President of the Florida Apartment Association (FAA) for 2019.

Since 1971, the Florida Apartment Association has worked to represent and be an advocate for the interests of the Florida multifamily rental housing industry. The organization ensures high property management standards, resident satisfaction, and safety throughout the state of Florida. The organization also currently represents approximately 630,000 apartment homes in the state of Florida as well as the umbrella organization that links ten (10) independent local associations across the state.

In her role with JMG Realty, Bonnie oversees the property management operations and owner consulting in Florida encompassing approximately 10,000 +/- units. Throughout her tenure with JMG, her apartment management expertise has ranged from market feasibility studies, acquisition, renovation, new construction rent-up, stabilization and receivership of properties ranging from garden style, mixed use, mixed income, and mid to high rise properties. She also serves as an active Florida Real Estate Broker.

Under her supervision, her properties have won two "Pillars of the Industry" awards and one "Renovation of the Year" award. Her marketing plan for City View in Orlando was a Pillars of the Industry Finalist for Best Overall Marketing Plan of the Year. Under Bonnie's management, The Ashford of Spring Valley in Altamonte Springs won the "Outstanding Renovation Victor" award from the National Apartment Association.

During her tenure she has worked tirelessly to give back to the industry by serving on the Board of Directors for the Space Coast Apartment Association as well as serving on the Board of Directors for the National Apartment Association, as a Region 9 Regional Vice President. She has held numerous offices with the Florida Apartment Association including Treasurer, Secretary, this past year as Vice President, and will now lead the Florida Apartment Association as its 2019 President.

She received the Certified Property Manager (CPM®) designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management in June of 1985 and was also later awarded the HCCP designation from the National Association of Home Builders.

Over the years, Bonnie has created and brought great value to JMG and its clients. She has done so by consistently exceeding owner's goals through analyzing and understanding market trends, developing excellent instincts for identifying and pursuing early multifamily trends, and has proven herself to be a strong leader in the multifamily industry by always being ready to lend a helping hand to others.
