GLIDE FOUNDER AND MINISTER OF LIBERATION REVEREND CECIL WILLIAMS will be honored as JobTrain's 2011 ROLE MODEL OF THE YEAR award recipient. As minister, author, social activist, community leader and spokesperson for the poor and marginalized, Reverend Williams is in the forefront of social change and a champion in the struggle for civil and human rights. Under his leadership, GLIDE has become the only program of its kind in San Francisco to serve (3) nutritious meals a day, 365 days a year to the City's poor, homeless and hungry. JobTrain's highest honor has previously been bestowed upon legendary NFL Hall of Famer Bill Walsh, bestselling author and inspiration of the critically acclaimed movie, "The Pursuit of Happyness," Chris Gardner and East Palo Alto Police Chief Ron Davis.
