Joe Granda to Receive Two 2026 Honors Celebrating More Than Five Decades in Music and Entertainment

His work spans Latin and crossover music, remix production, live events and LGBTQIA+ audience outreach.

MIAMI, Sept. 24, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Joe Granda, founder and CEO of Granda Entertainment, will receive two honors in October recognizing a 53-year career in music and entertainment, including his work promoting Latin artists and connecting them with English-speaking and LGBTQIA+ audiences.

Granda will receive the "Empresario Internacional del Año" recognition at the Golden Music Awards in Orlando on October 1. On October 16, Unity Coalition | Coalición Unida will recognize his contributions and artistic vision at the ORGULLO Honors Awards Dinner & Fashion Show in Miami Beach.

Early in Shakira's career, Sony executive Oscar Llord hired Granda Entertainment to market and promote her Radio y Música showcase. Granda later handled separate LGBTQ+ marketing and promotion projects for Shakira over the years. Most recently, he worked on remixes of her 2024 single "Soltera."

Granda also recently executive-produced dance remixes of Gloria Estefan's "La Vecina (No Sé Na')," a single from Raíces, the winner of the 2026 Grammy Award for Best Tropical Latin Album. His work with Estefan has also included promotion to LGBTQIA+ audiences.

His executive production credits include remixes of Thalía's "A Quién Le Importa," Gloria Trevi's "Todos Me Miran," Ricky Martin's "María" and "She Bangs," and Paulina Rubio's "Don't Say Goodbye." He also executive-produced Celia Cruz In The House and remixes of La India's "Seduce Me Now," which won Latin Dance Club Play Track of the Year at the 2004 Billboard Latin Music Awards. Other projects involved Christina Aguilera, Madonna, Village People, Gloria Gaynor and Evelyn Thomas.

Granda also thanked the companies that have placed their trust in him and Granda Entertainment over the years, including Sony Music, Universal Music, Warner Music and Live Nation, among others.

Granda's promotional work includes LGBTQIA+ tours for Latin artists such as Elvis Crespo, Fey, La India, Lucía Méndez and Ivy Queen, who received a special recognition from GLAAD in 2008. Through Pride stages and promotional events, he has helped connect Latin music with LGBTQIA+ audiences.

For approximately 15 years, Granda produced Viva la Música at SeaWorld Orlando and Busch Gardens Tampa. The event brought Latin music to family audiences, with performers including salsa artists Víctor Manuelle, Gilberto Santa Rosa and Jerry Rivera, as well as reggaeton artists Daddy Yankee, Don Omar and Zion & Lennox.

Born in Cuba and raised in Hialeah, Granda began his professional music career in 1973 with Miami band Majesty. He later co-wrote and produced "Diamond Girl" by Nice & Wild. According to Granda, the song spent approximately 27 weeks on Billboard's dance and crossover charts and was among the first songs with a Spanish-language verse to receive airplay on R&B radio.

"I'm halfway between both worlds. That's why crossover came naturally to me," Granda said of his Latin and Anglo musical influences.

His current projects include Incluvision, a music label dedicated to LGBTQIA+ artists, and a streaming TV channel for LGBTQIA+ Latino audiences.
