John Arlotta, Healthcare Industry Veteran, Named Special Advisor to General Atlantic

GREENWICH, Conn., June 29 /PRNewswire/ -- General Atlantic LLC ("GA"), a leading global growth equity firm, announced today that John Arlotta, former Chairman and CEO of Coram Inc. and NeighborCare Inc., has joined the firm as a Special Advisor. In this role, Mr. Arlotta will support GA's active, value-added approach to partnering with leading growth companies in the healthcare sector.

Mr. Arlotta joins GA's global network of healthcare-focused current and former Special Advisors, which includes Dr. Mark McClellan, former Administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services; Brent Saunders, formerly of Schering Plough and now CEO of Bausch & Lomb; and Tracy Bahl, former CEO of Uniprise and the current Executive Chairman of Emdeon. GA's Special Advisor network consists of highly experienced senior executives who work closely with GA's investment professionals in identifying new investment opportunities and in providing deep industry and operational expertise to GA's portfolio companies.

Prior to joining General Atlantic, Mr. Arlotta served as Chairman, President and CEO of Denver based Coram Inc, a privately held provider of home infusion and specialty pharmacy services with $500 million in revenues.  The company merged with Apria Healthcare in December, 2008.  Prior to Coram, he served as Chairman and CEO of NeighborCare Inc., a Baltimore based public company with annual revenues of $1.6 billion.  NeighborCare was in the business of providing pharmaceutical products and services to nursing homes.  He joined NeighborCare in July, 2003 and took the company public in December of that year. Mr. Arlotta has also served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Caremark Rx and as Chairman, President, and CEO of HealthCall Corporation.

Mr. Arlotta is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and is a retired U.S. Army Reserve Captain.
