John Corcoran Joins alliantgroup's Strategic Advisory Board

HOUSTON, Sept. 23, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- alliantgroup is proud to announce the addition of John Corcoran, Executive Director for the Construction Industry CPAs/Consultants Association (CICPAC), to the firm's Strategic Advisory Board. A long time CPA and executive within the construction industry, Corcoran brings over three decades of financial and consulting experience to the firm. As a member of alliantgroup's Strategic Advisory Board, Corcoran will continue to serve the construction industry, helping construction and construction-related companies claim the valuable tax credits and incentives they are entitled to.

Corcoran was the founding President of the Valley of the Sun Chapter for the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA) and has in the past served as the organization's National President. A frequent speaker at industry related conferences and events, Corcoran has devoted much of his professional career to helping CPAs better serve their construction clients. In addition to his work with CFMA, he has held numerous posts within the industry, including serving as the Chief Financial Officer for construction companies in Arizona and California.

Corcoran currently serves on steering committees for the AICPA Annual Construction Industry Conference and the AGC/CFMA Financial Management Conference. He is an editor of the Construction Controller's Handbook published by Warren, Gorham & Lamont and was a co-editor for the Journal of Construction Accounting and Taxation. He is also the recipient of numerous industry awards, including the Danny B. Parrish Outstanding Leadership Award and the Debra Hahn Award, awarded to CFMA members who have devoted their energies toward the betterment of the association and its membership.
