CLEVELAND, April 10, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Spring has {finally} sprung and it's time for a party! Join the Hunger Network of Greater Cleveland as we host the 31st Annual Run/Walk for Hunger presented by Mary Cares Much. Mary has supported and participated in the Run/Walk for over 20 years and is proof that one person can make a difference. The Hunger Network is thrilled to host this long-running, community-wide annual event on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at the Great Lakes Science Center on Erieside Avenue in Cleveland. Registration and check in begins at 7:45 am.

Run/Walk for Hunger participants will gather at the Great Lakes Science Center for a Kick-Off Celebration hosted by Cleveland 19 News meteorologist Jeff Tanchak, along with Moondog, CC and many more friends of the HNGC!

The Run/Walk for Hunger is a family-oriented and pet friendly event that will step off at 8:45AM, when runners and walkers will venture on a 5K through our beautiful city. As participants cross the finish line, they will enter the Family Fun After Party, with entertainment from Rock the House, lunch provided by Mr. Hero & the Orlando Baking Company, and a Kids Fun Run scheduled to race at 10:45AM. Rain or shine, we race!

Over the past 30 years, the community has gathered to walk and run 90,000 miles to raise awareness in hopes of ending local hunger. Together, this dedicated group of caring citizens has raised over $3.5 million for their hungry neighbors and walk united to make a place at our table for every Clevelander. This is why fundraising events, like the Run/Walk for Hunger, are so important to the Hunger Network.

The Run/Walk for Hunger is a primary source of funding for the Hunger Network and our goal is to raise over $125,000 in 2019. Your support is needed. Every $1 raised will provide 4 meals in over 70 hunger centers located around Cuyahoga County.
