Jonathan Larsen joins Avison Young in Los Angeles

Leading office specialist becomes Principal and Managing Director in West L.A.; Chandler Larsen also joins as Associate

TORONTO, Feb. 17, 2015 /CNW/ - Mark E. Rose, Chair and CEO of Avison Young, the world's fastest-growing commercial real estate services firm, announced today the strategic hiring of leading office broker Jonathan Larsen.

Effective immediately, Larsen joins Avison Young as a Principal and Managing Director of the firm's West Los Angeles office. He will oversee the day-to-day operations of the office, while continuing his focus on Downtown Los Angeles and growing Avison Young's Tri-Cities, West San Fernando Valley and Ventura County markets. Larsen will also continue to expand his national and local corporate occupancy and tenant representation practice, while providing sales and leasing services.

Larsen brings 27 years of commercial real estate experience to Avison Young, most recently with DTZ (formerly Cassidy Turley) in Los Angeles where he served as Regional Managing Principal of the firm's Southern California region from 2012 to 2015. He also served on the board of directors at Cassidy Turley.

While at DTZ/Cassidy Turley, Larsen launched the firm's Los Angeles office and oversaw a 35-employee operation. Prior to that, he spent nearly seven years as Executive Managing Director and board member at Transwestern in Los Angeles, serving office clients in leasing and sales. From 1995 to 2006, he served as a Principal in the Downtown Los Angeles office of Trammell Crow Company. Larsen started his commercial real estate career with CB Richard Ellis (now CBRE) in Los Angeles in 1988. While there, he ranked among the firm's top 10% nationally while providing corporate tenant representation and agency leasing services.

Over the course of his career, Larsen has garnered numerous accolades, including: CoStar Power Broker of the Year (2005 to 2014); Cassidy Turley National Top Producer Award (2013, 2014); Los Angeles Business Journal Top Tenant Advisory Broker (2013, 2011, 2010); Transwestern Top Outsourcing Service Award (2011); Transwestern Top (National) Tenant Advisory Broker (2011); Top President of U.S. Private Clubs Award (2010); Transwestern Champions Club (2008 to2011); Transwestern Newcomer of the Year (2006); Los Angeles Business Journal Broker of the Year (2002); Trammell Crow Top (National) Tenant Advisory Broker (2002); CB Richard Ellis Top Broker Award (1990 to 1996) and CB Richard Ellis Rookie of the Year Award (1989).

Larsen holds a Bachelor of Science in finance and marketing from the University of Washington, where he played intercollegiate basketball. He is also on the board of directors of the United Way of Greater Los Angeles, serves as campaign Chair of the Los Angeles Advisory Board of the Posse Foundation, and was former President of the Jonathan Club.

Also joining Avison Young from DTZ is Chandler Larsen as an Associate. Formerly an Associate at DTZ in Los Angeles, he will service office leasing clients in conjunction with Jonathan Larsen.
