NEW YORK, June 6, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Ashok Kumar has joined Joseph Gunnar & Co., LLC as the Head of Equity Research. During his 22 year career in the industry, Mr. Kumar has held senior research positions at Collins Stewart, Maxim Group, Piper Jaffray, Prudential Securities, Raymond James, Rodman & Renshaw and Aegis Capital. Prior to that, Mr. Kumar held engineering and marketing positions at Intel.

Mr. Kumar was named to Smart Money magazine's 30 Most Influential People in Investing in December, 2000. He is featured regularly on Bloomberg and CNBC and is often quoted in publications such as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Business Week, Fortune and USA Today. Mr. Kumar received a bachelor's degree in engineering, a master's degree from Purdue in electrical engineering and a master's degree from Wharton in business administration. In addition, he holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
