- Mr. James Mulva, Chairman and CEO, ConocoPhillips
Rick Franke, president of Junior Achievement of Southeast Texas, noted, "These laureates epitomize the entrepreneurial spirit while being positive role models for the young people who would walk in their footsteps."
Mr. Earl Hesterberg is being recognized for his remarkable accomplishments of a 35-year career in the automotive industry leaving a legacy by leading the world's fourth largest group of auto dealers. Ms. Lynne Liberato's induction is a result of her tremendous accomplishments in Houston's legal community and becoming the first female President of the Houston Bar Association. The 2012 laureates were selected by a committee comprised of previous inductees of the JA Hall of Achievement and Junior Achievement of Southeast Texas Board of Directors.
In addition to the induction ceremony, the laureates are honored in a permanent educational display within JA of Southeast Texas' experiential learning center which houses the JA BizTown and JA Finance Park programs located at Dacoma and T.C. Jester. Each laureate's life story is displayed to share a unique perspective of the individual's life as an adult as well as a child. In each laureate's story, children find threads of inspiration and motivation to dream bigger, work harder, and most importantly, never give up on themselves. Nearly 20,000 students participate in the hands-on educational experience of JA BizTown and JA Finance Park every school year.
The JA Hall of Achievement was founded by Junior Achievement of Southeast Texas in 2006, and has inducted eighteen Houstonians to date. To learn more about the event and make plans to attend, visit www.jahouston.org.
