Analyst Update: Quartetly Results and Product Launches

The US stock market on December 10, 2014 ended the day in red, led by a sharp decline in oil stocks amid the investor concerns about the global-economic slowdown. The Dow Jones industrial average fell 1.51%, the S&P 500 edged 1.64% lower, and the NASDAQ Composite declined 1.73%. The Oil price on Wednesday fell 4.5% to $60.94 a barrel, down 43% from this year's high after Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) reduced its forecasts for crude oil production in 2015 owing to the swelling supply from North America and other rising producers. The Asian stock markets ended the day on a mixed note with fresh concerns over slumping oil price and Greece's weak economy, which was offset by a strong rebound in Shanghai Composite Index. The European stocks renounced gains with the turnaround led by a slump in energy shares as oil prices extended their losses.
Fuel Systems Solutions, Inc. (Fuel Systems Solutions) reported its third-quarter 2014 results with higher gross margin of 23.5% as compared to 22.6% in third-quarter 2013. However, revenues declined 12.8% YoY to $85.1 million owing to difficult economic conditions. On a segment basis, revenue from the FSS Industrial segment posted a decline of 14.9% YoY to $25.6 million, whereas FSS Automotive segment revenues edged lower 11.9% YoY to $59.5 million.
Fuel Tech Inc (Fuel Tech) noted a 36.0% YoY decline in its third quarter 2014 revenues reflecting a slower U.S. activity within its Air Pollution Control technology (APC) segment. However, the Company's Fuel Cell segment posted a 2% YoY increase in its revenues despite challenging operational environment.
Fuwei Films (Holdings) Co., Ltd (Fuwei Films) reported strong third quarter 2014 results with lower net loss as compared to corresponding period in previous year. During the quarter, the Company increased its sales of specialty films to RMB20.7 million ($3.4 million) or 30.0% of the Company's total revenues as compared to RMB20.6 million in Q3 2013.
Garmin Ltd. (Garmin) launched Flight Stream 110/210 Bluetooth wireless gateway that enables connectivity and communication between select Garmin avionics and Garmin Pilot on certain iPad/iPhone and Android devices. Flight Stream is the latest addition to the Company's expanded Connext portfolio of products and features that offers a connected cockpit so pilots have easy access to information in flight.
Highway Holdings Limited (Highway Holdings) reported strong fiscal second quarter 2015 results with a triple digit YoY growth in its net income owing to its increased focus on higher margin businesses. For the quarter, the Company reported net income of $0.37 million as compared to $0.15 million in Q2 FY 2014.
