Kamal Ali Appointed Albuquerque City President for BBVA Compass

BIRMINGHAM, Ala., April 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- BBVA Compass recently announced that Kamal Ali has been appointed Albuquerque City President. The position of Albuquerque City President was previously held by Ron Smith, who was appointed Western Regional Executive for the bank's Commercial Banking Unit.

Prior to his promotion, Ali was a successful line-of-business manager for the Commercial Bank.  In his new role, Ali will oversee the Corporate and Commercial Banking Units in Albuquerque, which includes the commercial real estate group. Ali is currently a member of the Albuquerque Economic Forum and sits on the Lenders Committee of the Albuquerque Economic Development Board. He also has plans to join Leadership New Mexico as well as take an active role in several non-profit groups.

A true example of rising through the ranks, Ali has held multiple positions within BBVA Compass since graduating from Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, AL with his B.S. in Finance, B.A. in Economics and MBA. His career with the bank began in 1995 at the corporate headquarters in Birmingham as a Credit Analyst. From there Ali became an Assistant Relationship Manager before being asked to relocate to Albuquerque as a Relationship Manager in July 2000.
