Kavin G. Shah, M.D., MPH Joins Long Island Plastic Surgical Group (LIPSG) As Director of Clinical Trials

NEW YORK, Aug. 27, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Long Island Plastic Surgical Group http://www.lipsg.com/, the largest and oldest private academic plastic surgical practice in the country, has announced the addition of Kavin G. Shah, M.D., MPH as Director of Clinical Trials.  Dr. Shah will be overseeing and managing multiple industry-sponsored clinical trials, implementing new policies and procedures while negotiating and finalizing their budgets. Dr. Shah will also be responsible for generating and maintaining critical industry relationships in order to solicit new trials for the practice.

Prior to joining LIPSG, Dr. Shah worked in clinical research at North Shore-Long Island Jewish School of Medicine serving as the point person for investigator initiated clinical trials.   He was also charged with composing and submitting clinical manuscripts to various peer-reviewed journals while maintaining current knowledge of both New York state and FDA regulatory guidelines.

Dr. Shah received his medical degree from St. George's University School of Medicine, Grenada, WI and his MPH from St. George's University School of Public Health, also in Grenada.  Dr. Shah completed his undergraduate work at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.

Dr. Shah entered the Surgical Residency program in the Department of Surgery at the North Shore – Long Island Jewish Health System in Manhasset, NY, and proceeded as a Surgical Research Fellow and Scientist in the Department of Surgery at the Feinstein Institute for Medical Research.     

Dr. Shah is a Member of both the Osler Society of NY and the Association for Academic Surgery (AAS) and is a Resident Member of the American College of Surgeons (ACS).
