FAIRFIELD, N.J., Jan. 25, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- We are deeply saddened by the recent loss of a legendary man, Jack LaLanne. We have been proud to be part of sharing Jack's message for good health and wellness to millions of people worldwide over the past decade, through the marketing of the Jack LaLanne Power Juicer, a success in the infomercial world.
Jack, born September 26, 1914, turned his life around at the age of 15 and began to promote a healthy lifestyle for everyone. From the opening of his first health spa/gym in 1936 to the creation of his Power Juicer, Jack's goal was to help people get healthy and feel better about themselves. The Jack LaLanne Show got people off the couch and exercising for 34 years, the longest running television exercise show. He affectionately became known as the "Godfather of Fitness." If he could help or change one person a day it made him happy.
Tristar and myself were very grateful to recently honor Jack on his 95th birthday in California where we celebrated with 400 of Jack's closest friends, including California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, who was there to honor the fitness legend. We were also proud to work with Jack to use his birthday celebration as a fundraising event to raise money to help build awareness for ovarian cancer with the proceeds going to the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance (OCNA).
Jack once said, "I can't die. It would ruin my image." Tristar will continue to market Jack's line of Power Juicers to keep his image and healthy living message alive.
Our prayers and thoughts go out to Elaine, Jack's children, and his friends and family at this sad time.
