Kenneth L. Wainstein Named 2015 White Collar Crime Trailblazer By National Law Journal

NEW YORK, Dec. 17, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP, a leading counselor to global financial institutions and corporations, announced today that partner Kenneth L. Wainstein has been named one of National Law Journal's White Collar Crime Trailblazers for 2015.

Attorneys were chosen from a highly competitive pool of worthy candidates and were given this distinction for accomplishments that "moved the needle" in white collar crime law.

Wainstein was recognized for his twenty-plus years of criminal enforcement and national security experience within the U.S. government, as well as his work at Cadwalader including the investigation into allegations of academic irregularities at the University of North Carolina.

Wainstein was an Assistant U.S. Attorney from 1989-2001, and he worked with the FBI as General Counsel (2001-2002) and as Chief of Staff (2003-2004). He was the U.S. Attorney in Washington, D.C. from 2004-2006 and was Assistant Attorney General for National Security at the U.S. Department of Justice from 2006-2008. Wainstein served as Homeland Security Advisor for then-President George W. Bush in March of 2008. He joined Cadwalader in March 2012 and is Chair of the Firm's White Collar Defense and Investigations Group.
