This year, Thomas' took their Breakfast Battle contest on the road and pitted 50 food trucks from 50 cities across the country against each other in search of America's best breakfast recipe.

The Pineapple Express, created by Ken's All Star Cart in Columbia, S.C., was the winning recipe in the Thomas' Breakfast Battle: Food Truck Edition.

Innovative chefs from locally acclaimed food trucks nationwide were challenged to create the ultimate breakfast recipe inspired by the cuisine of their food truck. From sweet treats like Churro Bread Pudding to unique, savory options like Breakfast Macaroni and Cheese, each participant broke down the traditional breakfast barriers and created 50 new and unique ways to enjoy Thomas' English Muffins and Bagels at home.

Ken's All Star Cart received enough votes on ThomasBreakfastBattle.com to advance in all five rounds of the competition, which narrowed the pool each week based on the number of consumer votes. The team from Ken's All Star Cart is taking home the title of "Thomas' Breakfast Battle Champion," and the prize of $25,000, for their recipe 'Pineapple Express' served on a Thomas' Original English Muffin — a sweet and savory combo that features a jerk ground chicken patty topped with spicy pepper jack cheese and a deep fried pineapple slice.

Hundreds of thousands of votes were cast throughout five weeks of voting, as the loyal fan base of all 50 food trucks — including local elected officials — shared the contest hashtag, #ThomasBreakfastBattle, via social media to help spread the word and drum up local support for their food truck. All 50 recipe submissions, available on the contest website, provide consumers with the chance to elevate their breakfast experience by creating any of these one-of-a-kind dishes at home.
