SAN JOSE, Calif., Nov. 9, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- SanDisk executive Kevin Conley is a keynote speaker at the eleventh annual Storage Visions Conference. In addition, Amplidata, Atempo, Candence, Datalight, Millenniata and Xendata join SV 2012 as sponsors and exhibitors. The conference will be held at the Riviera Hotel Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, January 8 & 9, 2012, put on by the Entertainment Storage Alliance.
Kevin Conley is Senior Vice President and General Manager, Client Storage Solutions at SanDisk. His keynote talk, given at 1:30 PM on Sunday, January 8, 2012 is titled: "Fulfilling the Cloud's Promise of Data Ubiquity." Kevin's talk explores topics vital to the SV 2012 conference theme of "Heavy Storage for Thin Clients."
Kevin's abstract says, "The Cloud is here, and is becoming an increasingly important part of the lives of consumers and businesses. But is the Cloud living up to its true potential? Critical issues such as higher bandwidth, tiny form factors, low cost per GB, minimal power consumption, and reliability must be addressed by the memory industry in order for the Cloud to deliver on its promise of true data ubiquity. This keynote will highlight the trends in Cloud-based use scenarios from the first to the last node of the network, and underscore how Flash providers can enable the total Cloud promise through optimized data centers and high performance thin clients."
Kevin Conley is senior vice president and general manager of SanDisk's Client Storage Solutions business, which supplies solid state drives (SSDs) to tablet and ultra-thin notebook computer manufacturers. He oversees the development, marketing and distribution of SanDisk's entire client SSD product portfolio, which ranges from postage stamp-sized embedded SSDs to full-size hard disk drive (HDD) replacements.
Previously, Conley was vice president of engineering at Corsair from 2009 to 2010. He worked for SanDisk from 1993 until 2009, holding positions as vice president of research and development for audio/video products, senior director of product system engineering and director of system engineering and product development. Conley has also worked as an engineer and an engineering manager in the hard disk drive industry.
