Kevin M. Ban, MD, Named Chief Medical Officer at Dovetail Health

NEEDHAM, Mass., May 8, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Dovetail Health announced the appointment of Dr. Kevin Ban as Chief Medical Officer, effective May 5, 2014.  In this role, Dr. Ban will lead Dovetail's corporate clinical strategy.

Dovetail Health, a designer and provider of integrated solutions to improve healthcare quality and reduce costs, has recently expanded its footprint and is working in several different geographies beyond Massachusetts. 

Dr. Ban joins Dovetail Health after serving as the Chief Medical Officer and Medical Director at Beth Israel Deaconess (BID) Hospital in Needham, MA and as an Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School.   He led the clinical team at BID Needham and introduced and directed quality, efficiency and patient safety initiatives. Previously, Dr. Ban was a visiting professor at the University of Florence in Florence, Italy and the director of the Meyer Pediatric Trauma Center there.  He was a leader in the implementation of a regional emergency medicine project to build an educational infrastructure for over 900 emergency medicine physicians in the Tuscany region.  Dr. Ban has extensive experience in medical education, project innovation and medical system building.

Dr. Ban is a graduate of Georgetown University and the Georgetown University School of Medicine.  He completed a residency in the Harvard-Affiliated Emergency Medicine program at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, where he has been an academic physician for over ten years.
