DULUTH, Ga., Nov. 14, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Kids 'R' Kids Schools & Academies, one of the nation's premier providers of early childhood education services, announced today that it has entered into an agreement with ABCmouse.com Early Learning Academy to make the website's comprehensive educational content available to teachers and families through their more than 160 preschools in fifteen states.
According to Terry Anderson, Kids 'R' Kids' Director of Education, the ABCmouse.com website -- which includes more than 2,000 learning activities in the subjects of reading, mathematics, science, social studies, art, and music -- will be made available to Kids 'R' Kids teachers as an additional classroom resource, with teachers also having the ability to select specific ABCmouse.com learning activities for children and parents to do together through a classroom-linked account in the child's home.
"We are thrilled to be able to provide ABCMouse.com Early Learning Academy to our teachers and to the parents of children who attend our schools and academies," noted Anderson. "We will be correlating the wealth of ABCmouse.com activities to our own proprietary curriculum, enabling parents and children to do highly engaging educational activities together at home to support the learning of concepts and skills that are taught in our classrooms across the nation."
The goals of both Kids 'R' Kids www.kidsrkids.com and www.ABCmouse.com emphasize the importance of providing well-designed educational activities to prepare children for kindergarten and elementary school during the all-important early years up through age 5, a period of time when children learn faster than at any other time in their lives, according to child development experts.
"Kids 'R' Kids is a clear industry leader in using technology when it comes to adopting interactive learning methods," said Stephanie Yost, Executive Vice President of Age of Learning, Inc. "The fact that they were the first national franchise to embrace interactive classrooms at the preschool level attracted our team to forge the partnership we're announcing today. We are very pleased to provide ABCmouse.com's learning activities, which have been carefully designed and built so as to incorporate best practices in early childhood education, to more than 35,000 children in Kids 'R' Kids Schools & Academies."
"We see this agreement as an opportunity to again break new ground," said Anderson, "through the innovative use of technology along with the most comprehensive online early learning website available in order to bring parents and their young children together in the learning process -- something that research has demonstrated has positive, long-lasting effects on a child's success in school. This is very much a win-win-win for both of our organizations and for the families we serve."
