JASPER, Ind., Jan. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Kimball® Office | interstuhl® started the new year on a high note -- prestigious Good Design(TM) award wins for two of the company's seating lines, Fit(TM) and Hero. Just For You.(TM) Since 2001, Kimball Office has won nine GOOD DESIGN awards.
The Good Design awards are the world's oldest and most coveted design program, and recognize designers and manufacturers that are advancing new and innovative products, while stretching the envelope beyond what is considered ordinary in the world of design.
"Our recent Good Design wins are an excellent way to start off 2010," said Jeff Fenwick, vice president and general manager at Kimball Office. "It's a true honor when the hard work and thoughtful design of two of our new Kimball Office | interstuhl lines are recognized on an international stage by some of the best in the business."
Kimball Office's winning entries were judged among thousands of entries from 35 countries. The awards are conferred by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.
"Good Design has immediate public recognition for the best new design produced worldwide. For the public, it's the seal of approval," said Christian K. Narkiewicz-Laine, museum president, The Chicago Athenaeum.
The Fit chair is deceptively simple in its design. Using a specialized mesh fabric over a cantilevered steel frame. The Fit is an exceptionally comfortable chair that automatically conforms to even the slightest movement.
Hero. Just for You. provides a personalized sit for individuals of all sizes and statures, and senses the sitter's weight to automatically tension the seat and backrest appropriately.
